Someone once said : values are what truly define us when survival and financial concerns—though ever-important—are momentarily set aside.
Still, it is quite hard to get your head around how values matter when all your career you have been focussed on survival. Get the job done and go home – what’s more valuable than that?
Most workplaces are like that: as long as the bottom line is achieved, nothing else truly matters. You put in the effort, get the job done, and return to your routine. But great companies stand apart—they exude something more – like a set of secret ingredients in a secret sauce to a blockbuster dish. It’s often intangible, hard to define, but unmistakable when you experience it— and only when you do.
And when you see it, you realize what’s been missing. And you wouldn’t want to trade it away easily – even for a spike in compensation or other amenities.
Because you realize, how truly rare it is.
But are values found along the way in the journey of a company or can they be foundational. Also, when or where can these values be applied? And even more importantly – How can one rely on these values ?

CHOICE
Whether we realize it or not, time is our greatest asset. One lifetime, and that is it. And who we choose to spend it with or work with should be first and foremost, our choice. So, choose wisely and always know that you can always choose differently when things aren’t quite going your way. Question every occasion where you aren’t offered a choice.

TRUST
Now that you have chosen to embark on this journey with OP, what do we build the relationship on ? What is the currency to trade our futures with ?
The foundational value of all successful companies, is Trust. Trust will see most partnerships through the toughest of times.
What is trust, though ? And more importantly, where does it all begin.
Trust should, we believe, start with oneself. When you have that belief that you have what it takes to see the enterprise you’re involved in through all the way, you possess that trust in yourself. Once you have that, then you can see the levels of trust and self-belief that others bring to the table. You and the team, can then do the impossible.
And you can be assured that OP’s foundation is built on this kind of trust.

DIGNITY
We are all born with an endowment of a sense of dignity. Dignity, is a basic idea that a person is worthy of respect and value of their own sake, our own existence.
But along the way, due to the choices we make, and our own expectations of those choices – some of which are for survival and others for pure ambition- those basic levels of dignity slowly erode away. Also, the way we see the world also changes, with us perceiving less value to the little things that people do for us, that are then taken for granted.
Dignity is therefore a reflection of how we see ourselves, on the world around us. At OP, developed on the core values of choice and trust, we will always value you for the simple reason that you are something to someone somewhere, and that is enough.
ADVENTURE
Last, but possibly the core of what OP stands for, or came into being for. We are here because we saw a thrill in questioning the narrative, or steering a bit from the trodden path, or being curious enough to uncover a bit more than the assigned task.
A sense of exhilaration, a why-not-this-way, a what-if ; rather than just auto-filling the boxes and hitting submit.
It may not always result in gains, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
And as time goes by in these pursuits, you gradually begin to see a return on risk and time spent. At the very least, you know you are a better person than you were yesterday.
What pursuit could be more outstanding than that !
